On July 21, The U.S. House of Representatives passed HR 6395, the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). 108 Republicans joined 187 Democrats to pass the bill with a bipartisan, veto proof, majority.
We commend Arizona’s Republican Representatives for voting against the passage of HR 6395. Buried deep in the bill is “Red Flag” language. Section 542 of the bill would update the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) to allow for military court protective orders, issued on an ex parte basis, to “restrain a person of possessing, receiving, or otherwise accessing a firearm…” An ex parte decision is one decided by a judge without requiring all of the parties to the dispute to be present. Voila! We now have military personnel subject to “Red Flag” firearms confiscation, without due process.
It’s imperative that you contact President Trump and your U.S. Senators urging them to oppose the passage of HR 6395. Gun Owners of America (GOA), has prepared an email for you. Click on the link below.
