As we gather with loved ones this week to reflect on our blessings, let us take a moment to express gratitude for one of our greatest gifts: liberty. The freedom to speak, assemble, and protect ourselves is the cornerstone of who we are as Americans and as Arizonans. These rights did not come easily and are maintained only through vigilance and action.
While we cherish our freedoms, history reminds us that complacency is liberty’s greatest threat. As we approach the legislative session in January, we must and we will stand ready to protect our rights and defeat any efforts to undermine them.
A key way to make your voice heard in the Arizona Legislature is through the Request to Speak (RTS) system. RTS allows you to provide public comments on bills and lets lawmakers know where you stand—without leaving your home. If you’re not signed up yet or your account is inactive, now is the time to act. AzCDL is here to help you get started. Simply visit https://azcdl.org/rts/ , and we’ll guide you through the process.
Together, we can ensure that our rights are not just celebrated but actively defended. Take this time to prepare, because when the session begins, your engagement will be critical to preserving the freedoms we hold dear.
Let’s be thankful for what we have and vigilant in ensuring we don’t lose it.
Thank you for being an essential part of AzCDL and for your commitment to safeguarding liberty in Arizona.
Stay Frosty,
